Calvary Baptist Church

Overview

Many of the ministries at Calvary revolve around the Great Commission that our risen Lord gave to us before He left the earth (Matt 28:18-20), which reads (from the New American Standard Bible):

"And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.'"

Jesus' commission includes three elements: evangelism, baptism, and study. Much of our efforts are thus focused on delivering the gospel to the lost, bringing them into the church, and then equipping them to live how the Lord has commanded them. To this end, Calvary Baptist Church is passionately committed to helping Christians grow in knowledge, wisdom, and discernment through proper learning of the Word of God (Phil 1:9-10).

Most of our other ministries seek to demonstrate the love of Christ, both within the church (1 John 3:14) and to the community we live in (Matt. 5:14-16). Therefore, we also have a number of ministries dedicated to serving the church and community, both tangibly and spiritually. These ministries are generally headed by our deacons.
Committed to verse-by-verse expository preaching, the Doctrines of Grace. Practicing God-centered worship.
