Childrens' Ministries
Through a variety of ministries, we care for and shepherd children. Leaders and helpers are equipped to effectively minister to little ones, while enjoying mutual encouragement and accountability.
Awana Clubs, Age 2 to Grade 6
Calvary hosts the AWANA program for children from age 2 to 6th grade! For the 2011-2012 year, AWANA is held on Wednesday evenings from 6:45 to 8:30. Please note that opening night has been delayed for Fall 2011, due to damage caused by Hurricane Irene. Please check back later for more details.
AWANA is an organization with fully integrated evangelism and discipleship programs for children that actively involves parents, church leaders and mentors. AWANA gives children an opportunity to learn the Word of God in a fun atmosphere. Its goal is to see children come into a genuine saving relationship with Jesus Christ, grow in their faith, learn the Bible, and assume their places of responsibility in the local church family. The AWANA program is centered on a weekly club night, consisting of three parts. Game Time is packed with exciting activities that include both team and individual competition. Handbook Time is a learning and training time focused on the importance of God’s Word for daily living. Council Time includes group Bible study as well as awards and recognition for individual and group achievement.
AWANA began as a children's program at the North Side Gospel Center in Chicago in 1941 to develop weekly clubs that would appeal to churched and non-churched kids, lead them to trust Christ for salvation and grow them in enduring faith and service to God.
The founders of AWANA derived the name from the first letters of "Approved workmen are not ashamed" as taken from the Biblical scripture in 2 Timothy 2:15. Today, more than 12,000 U.S. churches run AWANA with programs in all 50 states. Children and youth in more than 100 countries participate in AWANA programs, and millions of adults are alumni. It is one of our nation’s fastest growing youth organizations. Our club is one of over 20,000 around the world. Our charter number is US011390.

Nursery Care
Nursery care is provided at Calvary for all church services (including Wednesday night prayer meeting) in the lower level of the main building for children birth through age 3.Comprehensive Sunday School Program
Sunday school for children of all ages is held at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings in the lower level of the main building, concurrently with Adult Sunday School. Classes are usually divided as follows:Toddlers (Ages 2 & 3)
Preschool (Age 4 through Grade K)
Primary (Grades 1-3)
Juniors (Grades 4-6)
