Home Groups

Home Groups meets on Sunday afternoons on the second and third Sundays of the month, with a few exceptions: check our calendar for exact days.

Home Groups are currently hosted in homes in the Somerset, Kendall Park, Flemington, Piscataway, and South River areas. A Home Group is a gathering of 4-15 people at a member's home for the purpose of mutual spiritual edification, fellowship, study and evangelism. It follows the biblical pattern of the New Testament church, where they met "in the temple...and from house to house. (Acts 2:46)" This was how the early church was successful in forming strong ties with each other, and evangelizing the lost.

In the time and place we live, however, our lifestyles and schedules keep us largely separated from each other. The goal of Home Groups is to provide an environment where believers can be closely connected to other believers, and in which biblical fellowship may take place in a more personal way.

Home group time usually consists of a brief time of worship in song, prayer, and a discussion based on a chapter from the book we are studying. Just as importantly, a key component of home groups is the informal time of fellowship and refreshments before and/or after the study, during which we talk about what we are learning, what God is doing in our lives, and how we are being challenged (or encouraged) spiritually.

We hope that everybody in our church will participate in a home group. Exact locations vary from week to week; to find out more, speak to a church elder or a home group leader. Or, you can email us!
