Joe first came to know the Lord while serving as a United States Marine aboard the U.S.S. Saratoga. After his tour, Joe entered Northeastern Bible College, where he completed his B.A. in Biblical Literature and began preaching evangelistic messages in nearby churches.

Joe and his wife, Jayne, a biblical counselor, live in Somerset, NJ, and have four children: Rebekah, Naomi, Joshua, and Elizabeth. When he’s not studying or teaching, Joe enjoys weightlifting, eating Thai food, and showing hospitality.

Joe is a passionate preacher committed to expository preaching, explaining the meaning of the Scriptures (including its charges, exhortations, and warnings) as intended by the original authors. He does this through careful study of the surrounding context, the historical background, and the grammatical structure in the original languages. He also believes that all of the Scriptures, both Old and New Testament, speak of Jesus Christ, who came into the world to save all who would believe from the penalty of their sin.

His hope for the church is that God’s people might be strengthened in heart as they see more of God and His unfathomable love as displayed in Christ (Ephesians 3:16-19).

Coming from a family of six kids, Dave grew up in a Christian home in South Jersey and was saved in middle school when he really understood the magnitude of his sin before God. Dave later graduated from Rutgers University with Bachelor degrees in History and English.

Dave lives with his wife, Ema, and his son, Benjamin, in Manville, NJ. Outside of work, Dave enjoys singing songs from musicals, playing board games like Wingspan, and learning more about world history.

Because he enjoys studying texts, David is most passionate about seeing the church spiritually equipped to interpret the Bible correctly, understanding grammar as well as textual and historical context. David is also eager to see more Christians trained in biblical counseling so that they are able to more skillfully minister God’s sufficient word and more gladly fulfill the command given to all believers: “We urge you, brethren, admonish the unruly, encourage the fainthearted, help the weak, be patient with everyone.” (1 Thessalonians 5:14)

Greg grew up in East Brunswick, NJ, and went to college at UC Berkeley, where he obtained degrees in Chemistry and Computer Science. Near the end of his time in college, God drew Greg to Christ. After college, Greg was privileged to spend a few years in Los Angeles at John MacArthur’s church, where his eyes were opened for the first time to the power of faithful, expository preaching through the Bible. God eventually brought Greg back to Central New Jersey to obtain a Ph.D. in Chemistry from Princeton University. Today, Greg works as a software engineer in the NY area.

Greg lives in Kendall Park, NJ with his wife, Yiyin, and their four children. In his spare time, Greg likes to play Virtual Reality ping pong, is trying to learn how to play jazz piano, and likes to learn about new software technologies. Greg also spends a lot more time than he likes to admit dunking on his son’s six foot tall pee-wee basketball hoop (don’t hate!). Yiyin and Greg love to have people over.

The passion of Greg’s heart is to make sure everyone who comes to Calvary feels loved, welcomed, and cared for, demonstrating as a church the love with which Jesus Christ has loved us. He prays that the church will demonstrate the love of God among the brethren and thereby spread the good news of Christ in Central Jersey.

Khaleef first heard about Christ after high school from a former music teacher. Curious, Khaleef began attending a church and reading the Bible for the first time. Through the reading of Scripture, God brought Khaleef to saving faith. Khaleef received a B.A. and an M.A. in Economics from Rutgers University and today works as a business manager in the New Brunswick area. He also got interested in creating hot sauces and jams and started Crumbley Kitchen.

Khaleef and his wife, Sherrian, live in Middlesex County. In his spare time, Khaleef enjoys listening to good jazz music, laughing at cartoons with Sherrian, spending time with people, and powerlifting.

Khaleef’s great passion for the church is to see everyone in it growing in personal holiness. Though a serious commitment to holy living is missing in many of today’s churches and is often mislabeled as “legalistic”, the Bible shows us that holiness is both commanded and expected of Christ’s followers. Khaleef’s prayer is that, at Calvary, we would view holiness as not just a command, but as a way of pursuing our ultimate joy in Jesus Christ, turning away from sinful habits and turning toward our good God!
